Removal of larch trees along a drive to a country house where we have been removing large conifers surrounding the gardens. They were planted as a screen but had now outgrown their position, so we removed three to allow the drive to be extended with the help of our ROBO-FLAIL.
It has taken time and a lot of effort (not by us) but it finally arrived today: a table sawn from the 100′ Cedar of Lebanon tree which was decayed and had to be taken down last year. It comes with a ‘live’ edge and legs cut from the same tree (where it still has the profile of the outside of the tree, rather than cut square = wobbly edges)!
The table is 3.2m long and 1.2m wide and was made by Henry at Hideaways

The lime trees in West Lavington which underwent pollarding in the early spring look a little different after a season’s growth…
Clear results were showing the cross-section of decay present in a tree removed from the car park of a soon-to-open children’s home in Westbury in the grounds of the former Chalford House Hotel. This was all confirmed in the PICUS report. As you can see, the tree looked perfectly healthy from the outside but had to be taken down as it was unsafe, especially over a car park. And we needed to wait until the birds had finished nesting to undertake the work.
Well done by all involved; the new spider MEWP proving its worth, along with the timber crane o remove the timber; no heavy lifting at CC Ltd!

Here are some images of our new Spiderlift 23m tracked Cherry Picker/MEWP/aerial platform.
We were working for Devizes Town Council to reduce a large 30m Oak Tree within Hillworth Park, Devizes

The VOSCH grapple saw was supplied and fitted to our Takeuchi 2150 excavator by Richard Court Forestry Engineering Ltd as the UK dealer, along with additional uprated hydraulics required to operate the grapple saw and a bulletproof windscreen to protect the operator. This machine represents £130,000 of investment to ensure dangerous ash trees can be managed safely and efficiently; as their condition worsens due to ASH Die Back Disease; whilst they may look OK from the initial inspection but they are becoming very brittle.
With this investment, Conservation Contractors Ltd have added over £250,00 of plant and machinery to their fleet over the past 18months.

What a difference a week makes – storms and strong winds delayed the start to a lime avenue pollarding project in West Lavington.
Great work by all involved – 2 MEWPS do make it safe and much easier.

We finally were able to get back to finish the pollards in West Lavington once the school had broken up for Easter. The recent high winds delayed the start of the project
Great job by all involved.
