Deadwood removal and reductions in Hampshire April 2025
Deadwood removal and reductions in Hampshire 9th April 2025
Both MEWP teams out in Hampshire this week, undertaking some deadwood removal along with some small reductions over access routes
Great job by all in the sunshine.
Check out our MEWP information page here (also known as Cherry Pickers)
Timber Stack in Hampshire Dec 2023
The stack of timber and pictures do not do this project justice. We removed 15 very large poplars from a narrow and sometimes waterlogged strip of land between a security fence and an SSSI canal, then through a very small gate.
A great result which can only be described as a job that never went wrong but had its challenges!
Well Done – Scott, Cameron, Antony, Samuel and the team.

Works to remove large poplar trees in Aldershot.
Works to remove large poplar trees in Aldershot.
The trees were over 40′ tall (the MEWP is 30m high)!
All timber had to be extracted through a small entrance with great care.
Some of the trees were hanging over an SSSI canal, which added to the complexity.

Reduction to decayed beech tree
Reduction to a decayed beech tree to try and retain for a few more years and provide habitat in the meantime; but, our 26m MEWP was not quite enough reach for the top.
Access was tight, but a great job was done by all involved over the two days.

MEWPs or Cherry Pickers
We have now added a 3rd MEWP to our fleet.
It’s a Tracked Teupen 23GT with a working height of up to 23m – compact but with a great working height.
It’s ideal for quick, efficient jobs. It is especially suited for job sites that provide little space and require great working heights. It has a variable and quick multi-position stabilising system, 180-degree rotatable basket and flexible, articulated boom. For full details please see here
And for details of our three MEWPS please see our web page on our MEWPS here
Reduction to roadside Ash tree near Allington
Our big MEWP made the reduction to a large roadside ash tree a little easier.
We removed 3m all over and so far, the Ash is looking to be a healthy specimen.
