This was just a replacement for some old fencing in Devizes which had seen better days and which we replaced in April. 40m long and 1.8m high, this will last a good 10 – 15 years even longer if a coat of treatment is given every few years.

Domestic close board fencing Devizes
Close Board Fencing is renowned for its strength and versatility, without sacrificing its appearance. Also referred to as Featheredge or Featherboard, it is formed by vertical feather edge boards that each partially overlaps and fix to the rear horizontal supporting wooden rails.
Our challenge here was to dig out a 450mm conifer hedge together with the ground stumps. We then erected 1.8m ( 6)’ of close board fencing at a domestic client’s home. Looks good, what do you think?
Dismantling acacia trees in Devizes
Dismantling acacia trees in Devizes was our task for today. We dismantled two decaying 24m high Acacia trees in the London Road, Devizes… There was a lot of rot in the trees and they had become unsafe.

60m hedge reduction Worton, Devizes
The pictures show us half-way through a large reduction on a 60m hedge which had grown to 65′ in Worton Village, Devizes. Following the unusually high winds in May, several branches had broken off and there was a further risk of more damage, so permission was sought from Wiltshire County Council as the hedge/trees were within a conservation area.
The work was then scheduled, needing our large cherry picker, and we recycled all the chip and timber locally.

Watercourse Repairs – before and after
We were awarded the contract to clear trees and undergrowth from in and around a lake in Worton, near Devizes. We also uncovered a spot of erosion which has now been reinstated so water goes over rather than around the weir. The work will require a program of tree removal and replacement planting, fencing, drainage works and removal of timber from the lake.
