Rights of Way in Sherston
A few photos of Mike’s projects on Rights of Way in the north of Wiltshire last week – the pictures show the Kissing Gates and a bridge at Sherston.
Sherston is a village and civil parish about 5 miles west of Malmesbury. The parish is bounded to the north by the county boundary with Gloucestershire, and to the southeast by the Fosse Way.

We were in Potterne today replacing some trees within a plantation that had died – oak, cherry, spindle and field maple.

Clearing River Kennet for WCC
A messy job today for Wiltshire County Council clearing the River Kennet behind St Peter’s Junior School. Trees were overhanging the watercourse which was full of wire. All in a day’s work!
Equestrian yard Chippenham – update
A quick update on our long-term project of the equestrian yard Chippenham…
The pictures show the stables and horse walker in concrete hard standing, internal walls for storage areas and washroom with toilet etc. electric security gates to go in shortly.
Pollarding willows in Cricklade
What a difference a day or two makes! Here are some pics of Trevor and Rich undertaking a re-pollard for Wiltshire County Council in Cricklade; started last Thursday in the snow and completed on Monday in the sunshine. The job was to re-pollard five willow trees on an area of open space. The trees had previously been pollarded and the height of the trees ranged from 12-20m. Our Cherry Picker came in useful!
New stable block turnout area
Something a little different this week…..
Following the recent building of a stable block ( not built by us ), we have made a turnout area outside, with timber fence and gates, to allow ponies out.
In Rockley, near Marlborough.
Roadside tree works over the highway at Bulford
Roadside tree works over the highway for the last few days at Bulford. The trees were approx 20m high and a mix of ash, sycamore and oak.
