Fence replacement for Ogbourne St George Parish Council this week (October 2020)
We erected new close board fencing on new Durapost metal posts giving a 25yr warranty on the posts to ensure a long lifespan.
We are soon to be an approved installer for DuraPost products
Savernake Forest post installation for the Forestry Commission
The first task on our new Forestry Commission fence framework contract for the SW of England: installing posts to prevent cars from being parked on the access roads in Savernake Forest.
The Forest stands on a Cretaceous chalk plateau between Marlborough and Great Bedwyn in Wiltshire; its area is approximately 4,500 acres.

Conservation Contractors at work in the Churchyard at Ludgershall
A busy couple of days dismantling a 20m high split horse chestnut tree at St James Church in Ludgershall.
We were contacted by the Church to inspect the tree following the loss of a large limb during recent windy weather. On inspection, the tree was found to be in an unsafe condition as it was agreed to remove it completely and grind out the stump.
Some of the timber was retained by the village to construct a Hibernaculum close by, and larger pieces were used by villagers for tabletops!

Vermin-proof fence around the gardens at Iford Manor
Our project here was to erect a vermin-proof fence around the gardens at Iford Manor; The Iford Manor Estate nestles between Westwood and Freshford. It boasts a Grade 1 listed, Italianate garden designed by Edwardian architect Harold Peto when Iford Manor was his home from 1899-1933.
Our task was to erect 800m of 2m high deer netting with rabbit wire at the base which was dug into the ground to prevent animals trying to dig underneath. All on creosote posts.
Also a few candidates for the 2021 calendar!!!

New turnout pen erected at Manton
We erected a new turnout inside a covered gallop at Manton at the end of May 2020; tough work in the heat!
It was 5ft high with 4 x 2 rails

Fence replacement near Avebury for NoremeadÂ
Back again, this time to replace old stock and barbed wire fence past its best. The Gourmet Goat Farmer breeds Does of Boer goats and can deliver locally. See their web page or their Facebook page
The fence was approx 2000m in total, some sections of which had 3 strands of barbed wire. The finished height of wire was 4ft.
