Danger from Sycamore Trees being poisonous to horses

A quick reminder to all horse owners about the danger from Sycamore Trees, their seeds and seedlings being poisonous to horses in many forms. Please see below, sent in by one of newsletter subscribers:

“Many thanks for another inspiring newsletter.

Further to our recent discussions regarding the emerging threat posed by the Acer (Sycamore) trees to horses, I wonder whether it might be worth reposting some of the advisories issues by the Royal Vets College and pretty much all of the regional vet practices across the country –  https://www.rvc.ac.uk/equine-vet/information-and-advice/fact-files/atypical-myopathy

Although in the early stages of detection there was little supporting evidence, it is now clear that the warming of the climate has resulted in an increase in the HGA toxin contained in the seeds and seedlings of the sycamore trees and that the threat to horses that ingest are susceptible to Atypical Myopathy which induces fatal paralysis.”
